How to Use a YouTube Video Downloader

A YouTube video downloader allows you to save a copy of a video, so you can watch it offline. There are many different ways to do this, but the most important thing is to make sure that you don’t use a tool that pushes unwanted crapware along with the video you want to download. Also, make sure you’re connecting your PC/device to a stable Wi-Fi network source while downloading the video.

This method works for most videos, but sometimes YouTube will display a message that says “Your input can’t be played because it’s private or contains music.” If you get this error, try using another method.

Another way to download a video from YouTube is to use the official app for iOS or Android. You can do this by opening the app and searching for a video. Once you’ve found the one you want, tap the share icon (a downward-facing arrow) and then tap Download. You’ll be asked to choose a resolution; the highest option will produce the best-looking video, but the file size will be large. The downloaded video will be saved in your library. If you have a paid subscription to YouTube, it will automatically keep your downloads for 30 days.

If you’re not a subscriber, your downloads will disappear after a few days. However, you can still access the videos you’ve downloaded by going to your “Downloads” page. You can find this by tapping the library icon (it looks like a folder) at the bottom of your screen or in the menu at the top of the screen.

You can also use an online YouTube video downloader to save videos to your computer without installing a program. These services typically work with any web browser and have a simple user interface. To use an online YouTube video downloader, simply enter the URL of a video into the search box and click the Download button. After a short while, your video will be saved to your computer as an MP4 file.

Some people have used a command-line utility called youtube-dl to download videos directly from YouTube, but the project’s GitHub repository was temporarily taken down for an allegation of DMCA violations. Another open-source tool on GitHub, yt-dlp, is a fork of youtube-dl that claims to have more features, but I’m not familiar with it and haven’t tested it.

The good news is that you can also save a video from YouTube to your desktop with VLC media player. To do this, open VLC and click the Media tab. Select the video you want to download and then press the Download Video button in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. You’ll be prompted to choose a destination folder for the video, and you can also choose which format you want it saved as. Once the video is saved, you can play it in VLC or in any other video player that supports MP4 files. You can also use the same process to save a YouTube video as an MP3 file.
